Valheim – Hearth and Home Monthly Development Update – 09/08/21

The newest update for the Viking game Valheim, Hearth and Home, is due out by the end of Q3. That’s around the end of September, which is approaching quickly. A new video has been released by Iron Gate spotlighting the upcoming changes to the food system.

Up to now each food would give a certain amount of stamina and health boost. The better foods would give more of both of these. The developer is tweaking this so that different foods are more biased towards one or the other. So instead of having three foods each with +60 HP / +50 SP, you will be looking more at +90 HP / +10 SP or vice versa. This will, we are told, create opportunities for super HP or super SP combos, or foods with opposite traits can be combined for a more balanced meal.

There are also some visual changes being made. The food bar is being replaced with three timers next to each food icon, showing you more directly when each piece of food needs replenishing. Also you will see a red, yellow or white fork next to each food icon. This gives you a quick reference as to whether it is good for health, stamina or both respectively.

Recent Sneak Peaks

We’ve also recently been given some more info on further changes to the game, with new items which have been created. Vikings will be able to pile their treasure into piles and display their wealth to everybody. That wealth will need protecting if it’s not hidden, so new Iron Grates have been added by the developer. Treasure chests have been added if you want to organise your hoard better as well.
