In October 2020 the second chapter of the Raft storyline was published. More destinations to find using your antenna, and more enemies to get in your way. Lots more objects to discover and craft, and most of all, more of the story.
By now there shouldn’t be any die-hard fans wanting to find out about all this by themselves, so here’s a bunch of spoilers…
Caravan Island
The next destination is Caravan Island. This large island is littered with caravans in all shapes and sizes, stacked up to form a city with plenty of scope for exploration. There are multiple zones to search in, and it can be quite frustrating getting from one point to another one at times. At this point you will be delighted to find one of the most eagerly received new objects – the Zip line! Use the zip line tool you find to hook on to any of the various lines around the island and zip across to your destination.

It is here that you will also find a new creature – the Mud Hog. These pigs are fast and surprisingly hard to kill, particularly when they attack as a pack. Try to pick them off with your bow, or go in as a group to kill them.

Eventually you will find everything you need, and make your way off the island. Spend a little while here, though, before you do. There are a number of hidden gems to find.
Tangaroa
The second new destination (and the last one for now) is a huge floating steel and glass biosphere containing a modern city complete with apartment blocks and all the industrial gubbings a city needs. This one will take even longer than Caravan Island to explore, and you will need to work your way upward from the sealevel dock through the storage areas, kitchens, generator room, and eventually up to ground level.

You will find possibly the most dangerous opponent yet patrolling the otherwise deserted streets of this floating city; the Butler Bot. Kill one for each keycard that you need to explore the apartments – which is essential to progressing with the storyline. You will also find some vending machines to spend the Tangaroa Tokens that you will find lying around (we bought a playable PIANO out of one of these – check it out!). You will also find various new fruits and seeds in the basement levels (bananas and strawberries).

New Items…
Other new items include:
- Battery charger
- Cassettes
- Electric water purifier
- Metal detector (use this on islands to find hidden treasures)
- Paintings
- Titanium
- Water pipes and tank
You can now fully automate water systems, including watering crops and grass plots. All you need to replace is the batteries every now and again. We hope to see more advancements like this in future.

All in all this was a fantastic update, adding tonnes of real content to the game. We loved it and we’re eagerly awaiting Chapter Three now.
