You will quickly discover new resources, and you’ll want to be building new items as soon as you can. To research new objects use the Research Bench. All you need to do is put every new item you find or produce into the Research Bench and you will be able to make new items as soon as they are available. You do use up the item that you research with, but on the whole that is well worth the investment.
