Vine Goo is an oddly useful material in Raft. You can use it to make plastic bottles, scuba gear, bows, circuit boards, and other items. How to find it is something that isn’t immediately obvious, so this article will explain it all.
Step 1: Finding Seaweed
The raw material for Vine Goo is Seaweed. This is found under the water around almost all islands as a particular portion of the very common vertical seaweed plants that you will see. Most of these plants will yield one piece of seaweed, which is the denser portion toward the top that glows and gives a hint when you look at it. It tends to be a little lighter in colour than the rest of the plant as well.

Seaweed is very common, but collecting it can be problematic at the start. Firstly you will want to eliminate Bruce. You can do this by either killing him, or by dangling some shark bait in the water to distract him.
Secondly you will need to take a little look around for the seaweed plants – this shouldn’t be difficult. Make sure you don’t drown while doing this!
Finally, find the part of the plant which looks denser and lighter-coloured than the rest and press E to pick it up. Work your way around the rest of the plants to collect as much as you can.

Step 2: Smelting Vine Goo
To create the Vine Goo, you need to smelt down the seaweed. Before you can do this you need to have crafted and placed a smelter. Next you just place the seaweed into the smelter, make sure it is topped up with planks, and you will have Vine Goo in no time!

Once you have enough Vine Goo, you can craft your plastic bottle (to make life a little easier), oxygen bottles (to last longer underwater), flippers (to move quicker underwater) and a few other things.
