Repairing Items in Valheim

Your beloved tools; a favourite flint knife, an awesome antler pick, a sturdy stone axe, even your hard-won leather (or even troll) armour. All of these can take damage and eventually break. Do you make another? No! Everything can be repaired.

For now, at least, Valheim has a free repair service at your workbench. Simply open your workbench menu and click on the Repair button to the left of the new craftable items, and each click will repair one of your damaged or broken items to new again. No fuss, and no new tools needed.

Later on, when you have forged tools as well, you will need to use either the workbench or the forge to repair your items, depending on which one you needed to craft them at. Also, take note that the more advanced tools may need a more advanced workbench or forge to repair. This isn’t necessarily the level that was needed to craft them – take note of the repair level on the item tooltip info.

You should make it standard practice to always repair all your tools whenever you are at a workbench or forge. You don’t want to have a vital piece of equipment fail at a critical time.

Once you have mastered repairing tools in Valheim, take a look at some of our other guides below.
